The Browning High-Power has been the standard military pistol of the UK, and many other countries, since the 1950s. It is reliable, reasonably accurate, easily controllable in rapid fire and has a relatively high capacity magazine.
Many of the people at Knockside carried one of these pistols, for defence against dogs or intruders, after John liberated supplies of them and 9mm ammunition from RAF Lossiemouth and Kinloss. Leah used one to kill the first of the bikers who attacked Knockside, John gave one to Sergei to replace his Makarov and it was also with one of these pistols that John was shot.
